Art that transforms spaces — from watercolor paintings to custom window art.

Kicking Off Spring Window Painting Season

Tomorrow I’ll be painting my first spring window of 2026 — and I couldn’t be more ready.

I woke up this morning to 26 degrees, which made the idea of spring feel a little distant. But thankfully, tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mid-fifties — the sweet spot for window painting. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right for the paint to cooperate and dry beautifully.

There’s something energizing about the first spring window of the year. It feels like turning a page.

Why Spring Windows Matter

Seasonal window art signals change. It tells customers something fresh is happening. After a long winter, bright colors, florals, and cheerful designs naturally draw the eye.

Spring windows feel hopeful. They feel light.

And for small businesses, that visual shift can make a big difference.

A Design That Fits the Brand

Tomorrow’s project is going to be especially sweet — it’s for a pottery painting studio. I’ll be painting pottery surrounded by spring flowers, tying directly into what they offer inside their space.

I always aim for window designs to do two things:

  1. Grab attention

  2. Clearly communicate what the business is about

In this case, the painted pottery will immediately tell passersby, “This is a creative, hands-on space.” The spring florals will add warmth and charm while keeping everything aligned with their brand.

When window art reflects the personality of the business, it becomes more than decoration. It becomes storytelling.

The Practical Side of Painting in Early Spring

Painting outdoors this time of year takes planning. Cold mornings mean layers — and sometimes earmuffs — until the sun does its job. But mid-fifties weather? That’s ideal. The paint flows smoothly, dries predictably, and allows me to focus fully on details.

After months of winter work, stepping into a spring palette feels refreshing.

Looking Ahead

I actually have another spring window scheduled the following day, which makes this week feel like the true start of the season.

There’s something satisfying about watching storefronts transition from winter scenes to bright, cheerful spring designs. It’s a reminder that seasons change — and small businesses evolve with them.

I’m ready for warmer days, colorful windows, and all the creativity this new season will bring.
