Preparing for a Season of Creativity
As the leaves begin to turn, I’m eagerly preparing for two outdoor art shows this fall. I love the process of planning and getting ready for these events—it’s both exciting and rewarding. I usually start by setting up my booth in the basement to practice arranging my paintings just the way I like. This makes it easier to put up the display when I arrive at the venue, ensuring everything looks perfect under the tent.
Art in The Park
The first show is one I’m thrilled to return to—Art in The Park, taking place on October 12-13. This event is always a highlight for me, not just because of the beautiful park location, but because of the relaxed and happy crowd. The park’s trees are often in full fall colors, adding a stunning backdrop to the event. Last year, I was incredibly honored to win the Jurors’ Choice Award here, which was both a surprise and a joy.
One of my favorite parts of attending these shows is seeing the in-person reactions to my artwork. There’s something truly special about sharing the work I’ve poured my heart into and watching people engage with it face-to-face. It’s an experience that no online comment can quite compare to.
Bentonville Fine Art Festival
Next on my schedule is the Bentonville Fine Art Festival, happening on November 9-10 in Bentonville, Arkansas. This will be my first time participating in this show, and I couldn’t have been more delighted to receive my acceptance email. Bentonville has such a vibrant, art-loving community, and I’m excited to be part of this event in such a dynamic town.
I’ve been busy preparing for both shows, making labels, signs, and finalizing everything down to the smallest details. I’m also looking forward to unveiling some new original paintings that I’ve been working on, and I can’t wait to see how they resonate with people.
These art shows are more than just an opportunity to showcase my work—they’re a chance to connect with art enthusiasts, feel the energy of the crowd, and celebrate creativity in beautiful, outdoor settings. I hope to see you there!
