Back to the Easel: Rebuilding My Art Life in Kansas City

After months of boxes, goodbyes, and big changes, I’m finally back in the studio—and it feels so good.

Since our move to Kansas City, life has been a whirlwind of settling in and creating new rhythms. For a while, I had to set my brushes aside as we packed up our home in Springfield and began the transition to our new place in the Northland area of KC. But now, with my studio unpacked, organized, and ready to go, I’m thrilled to say: I’m painting again!

There’s something incredibly energizing about returning to your craft after a long pause. My creative brain is buzzing, and I’ve already got three beautiful commissions lined up. Each one is different and special, and I can’t wait to share them with you as they come to life. I’m also open to taking on more custom work, so if you’ve been dreaming of a watercolor pet portrait, a peaceful nature scene, or a unique gift, now is a great time to reach out!

What’s Next: Bringing Art to the Windows of Kansas City

Another thing I’m looking forward to is starting up window painting again—this time here in the Northland! Painting on windows brings so much joy to business owners and customers alike, and I’ve missed the fun, fast-paced creativity it offers. If you’re a local business looking to brighten your space with seasonal designs or custom artwork, I’d love to chat.

This new chapter is just beginning, but I already feel encouraged by the possibilities. Kansas City is full of artistic energy, and I’m eager to be a part of it.

To everyone who’s supported me through this move—thank you. And to my new KC neighbors: I can’t wait to meet you and create something beautiful together.

Here’s to fresh starts, open sketchbooks, and a whole lot of color.
