I just finished painting some of the cutest windows for a brand-new quilt shop in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and I couldn’t be more excited about how they turned out!
This shop has such a beautiful row of windows—basically the perfect “billboard” for their grand opening. I wanted the designs to not only reflect their love of quilting but also create a fun, interactive experience for everyone passing by.
One of my favorite details is the giant spools of thread tipping over, spilling color across the glass. They make the perfect photo op—shoppers and visitors can pose with them for a playful picture. I also painted the shop’s logo flying high as a kite, which adds such a whimsical touch. These designs are more than just decoration—they invite people to stop, smile, and engage.
As I painted, so many people walking by stopped to comment on how excited they were about this business and its new location. It was such a wonderful reminder of how art can spark curiosity and start conversations. Even before the doors officially open, these painted windows are already doing their job—bringing attention to the shop and spreading joy to the community.
Projects like this are why I love what I do. Window art transforms a blank space into something alive and memorable, while giving businesses a creative way to connect with their community.
