A Look Behind the Brush: A Lake for All Seasons

I’ve got a truly special piece on my easel right now, and I’m excited to give you a little peek behind the scenes.

This latest commission is a large lake painting—but with a twist: the artwork is split into four sections, each representing a different season. From snowy stillness to sun-drenched waters, this concept is not only creative—it’s deeply meaningful. I love how it captures the ever-changing beauty of nature, all in one sweeping scene.

So far, I’ve made great progress:

The winter section is complete, with soft snow on the ground, a peaceful winter sky, and gentle snowflakes falling through the air.

The spring section is light and airy—nearly finished—with hints of new growth and that lovely sense of fresh beginnings.

Today, I hopped over to the summer section, where the sky is bright, the water is blue, and everything feels warm and alive. There's still quite a bit to do on this section. I'll be adding trees and grass soon. It's coming along nicely though.

This painting has been a joy to work on. Each section has its own mood and color palette, and I’m really enjoying the process of transitioning between the seasons. I can't wait to start the fall section! If all goes well, I hope to have this project completed by next week!

Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing the final piece when it’s finished!
