A Look Back at 2025: A Year of Change, Courage, and Creativity

As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on everything 2025 held — and what a year it was. It was a year of big changes, brave steps, and beautiful reminders of why I do what I do. Some seasons stretched me in unexpected ways, while others affirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

A New City, A New Chapter

One of the biggest shifts this year was moving to Kansas City. Leaving a familiar community was not easy. It meant packing up years of memories, friendships, and routines — and starting fresh in a brand-new place.

At the same time, this move opened the door to something exciting: the opportunity to establish my art in a new city. Kansas City’s creative energy has been incredibly inspiring, and I’ve loved slowly finding my footing here — exploring neighborhoods, meeting fellow creatives, and imagining all the ways my work can grow in this space.

Continuing to Paint What Matters

Even in the midst of change, one thing remained constant: painting.

My watercolor pet portraits continued to be a meaningful part of my work this year. Each portrait reminded me how deeply people love their animals and how powerful art can be when it honors that bond. These pieces are always personal, emotional, and grounding — and I’m grateful to everyone who trusted me with such special memories.

An Unforgettable Email

One of the most emotional moments of 2025 came in the form of an email. I didn’t even finish reading the subject line before running to tell my husband — tears already forming. I had been accepted as an artist for the Parade of Hearts 2026.

Being chosen for this beloved Kansas City program felt surreal. I’m incredibly honored to be part of a project that celebrates connection, creativity, and community on such a large scale. While I can’t yet share my heart design, I can say this opportunity means more to me than words can express.

Being Featured in Voyage KC

Another highlight this year was being featured in Voyage KC. Having the chance to share my story, my art journey, and the heart behind my work felt incredibly affirming — especially while getting established in a new city. Moments like this remind me that taking risks and showing up consistently truly matters.

Looking Ahead

2025 asked a lot of me — patience, courage, trust — and gave so much in return. I’m ending the year feeling grateful, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead. Kansas City already feels like a place where my art can continue to grow, connect, and make an impact.

Thank you for being part of this journey — whether you’ve been following along for years or just found my work recently. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.

Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful art, and all the beauty still to come.
